• Will switching accountants affect my business?
  No. Switching accountants has zero impact on your day-to-day operations. We handle all the administrative steps — including contacting your previous accountant and updating HMRC — so you can stay focused on running your business.
• Do I need to contact my old accountant myself?
  Not at all. Once you give us authority to act, we write a professional clearance letter to your previous accountant on your behalf, requesting all necessary records and handover information.
• How long does switching accountants take in Nottingham?
  In most cases the switch is completed within two to four weeks. The timeline depends on how quickly your previous accountant responds to our clearance request, but we manage the process from start to finish.
• Can I switch accountant if I have outstanding work?
  Yes. You are free to switch at any time, even if there are outstanding tax returns, accounts or other work in progress. We will take over any outstanding items and ensure everything is completed correctly and on time.
• Is there a fee to switch accountants?
  Switching to us is completely free. We do not charge a switching fee or an onboarding fee. Your previous accountant may charge for releasing your records — that is between you and them — but our side costs nothing.
• Do I need to wait until my year-end to switch?
  No. You can switch at any point in the financial year. Many clients find it easiest at year-end, but it is not a requirement and we are happy to take over mid-year without any disruption to your accounts.
• Will my HMRC records be transferred?
  Yes. We update HMRC with our details as your new agent, so all future correspondence and notifications come directly to us. The transfer is straightforward and typically takes a few days once submitted.
